When it’s time lift heavy and show everyone what you’re made of it’s easy to be motivated. “The platform adds a few kilos,” “You’ll hit that at the meet,” “The adrenaline will help you make that.” What ever it is for you on game day, awesome, go out there and get some; but remember how pumped and ready to preform you were two weeks later when you have 10’s on squats and complexes in your lifts. That’s when it’s time to show your coaches what you’re made of. Because it’s not as fun to talk about, but we all know it’s the training leading up that adds a few kilos on the platform, not the singlet, not your warrior princess hair braid, and not that post weigh in snack. Enjoy the meet, but remember when you’re back on the grind of daily training, it’s those tough days that make you successful at the meets.
